Apologies for not blogging my review of day 8 last night, but I was playing a tennis league match away in St Helens! I had however updated the results and group tables at lunchtime once the day's matches had concluded.
The undoubted highlight of day 8 was the biggest comeback of the tournament so far. In one of the best matches the Estadio Sao Paulo has witnessed, Ghana (Liverpool FC) trailed Germany (Handelsbanken) 6-2 at half-time before becoming the first team to overturn a 4 goal half-time deficit to record a 9-7 victory and secure their place in the last 16.
